The Nile River is one of the largest rivers on the planet. The Nile played a big part in Ancient Egypt and is home to many animals. The river stretches down from Burundi to Northern Egypt and flows out to the Mediterranean sea.

There are tons of animals in the Nile, reptiles, mammals, fish, but the most well known animal is the Nile Crocodile. The Nile Crocodile is a vicious predator and hunts Gazelle, wildebeest, and other animals. URL NileRiver.info

Animals such as the Hippo are seen to potentially live around the Nile. They are big and slow but are feared by many because they could easily rip you apart. URL RiverNile.info

Rhinos are seen to live around the Nile too like the Hippo. They live around the Nile Crocodiles hunting grounds but all Rhinos are herbivores. The Rhinos horns are valuable for dagger handles. URL RiverNile.info

The most commonly known fish in the Nile is the Nile Perch witch is valuable for food. The fish is colored with silver and with yellow eyes. URL RiverNile.info

The Nile River was used for many things but transportation was one of the biggest. The early boats were made around 4000 BC and were made out of papyrus. Other boats were made for fishing, traveling, and some for war. URL Ducksters.com

The Nile River was used for transportation, animals, and fertile soil. Fertile soil was good for farming like wheat which was good for making bread which was the most stable food of the Egyptian.

The Nile Delta is where the Nile River flows out to the Mediterranean sea.The delta starts at northern Cairo and makes a V shape and flows around north Egypt. It has rich farm lands and contains the largest cities after Cairo in Alexandria, Mansoura, Tanta, and Damanhur.

1. The Nile River flows through 11 countries including Kenya, Congo, Sudan, Uganda, and Egypt.

2. In 1970, the Aswan High Dam was built to prevent the river from flooding.

3. The god of the Nile was Hapi which brought fertile soil to the lands.

4. The Nile River is the longest river in the world with 4100 miles long.
