Sixteen people were hanged by being accused of witchcraft before 1692

It all started in the small farming village called Salem Village

"The Trials were held in 1692 in  Salem, in the Massachusetts Bay Colony."

Young girls started acting bewitched. They started to accuse people, and screamed that they were being tortured.

People were accused of being witches during the trials in Salem, in 1692

Nineteen men and woman were accused and hung. One man was crushed by stones.

Around 150 more people were sent to jail because of them being wiches and wizards.

Pastor Samuel Parris's wife died at age 60.

The people that were accused and still in jail were freed.

The legislators gave money to the victims and the accused families.
