- On July 31, 1965, the author of the Harry Potter series was born to Peter James Rowling and Anne Rowling. Back then, she or her parents didn't know the big life she would have in front of her.
- Two short years later, her sister, Dianne Rowling, came into the world. They acted out little plays/scenes together during their childhood.
- In 1969, the family moved to Winterbourne.
- In 1971, Joanne wrote her first book. It was called, "The Elephant House". She was 6 when she wrote this!
- In 1974 Rowling moved again to Tutshill. Her grandma, Kathleen, died. These changes were drastic for Joanne.
- In 1976 (11 years old), Rowling met her best friend. He supported Joanne with her dreams of becoming a writer.
- 1980 (15 years old), Anne Rowling was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, which damages nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord.
- In 1983, Rowling graduated with honors.
- In 1990, the story of Harry Potter popped into Rowling's mind. She was too shy to ask for a pen on the train to write it down, so she tried to remember it.
- Sadly, in 1991, Anne Rowling died. Joanne rowling was around 26 when this happened.
- In 1995, Joanne finished the first Harry Potter book, "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone."
