Questions:
1) From early 1900s to early 2000s
2) Both sides were very strong. One side was inviting because they offered more workers. The other saw the immigrants as people who just stole jobs and houses from "true" Americans. They were more likely to be welcomed when they went to places where there were abundance of jobs and opportunities were such as Texas. They didn't like it when immigrants went to places were land was less common. They took houses that citizens could have had. Some got angry.
3) I would look for articles on important figures at that time and what they said on this topic. The president at that time probably had an abundance of speeches on immigration.
During the Guilded Age, immigrants came to America to start a new life. This changed our economy by filling jobs. There were too many workers and not enough employers. The population grew at that time which some say "took" the oppurtunities from the first citizens. They helped by creating new bussineses. Entrepenures didn’t have to worry if they were going to be able to find workers for their new industry. Many immigrants worked in common factories or somthing to do with rail roads. In a way America wouldn‘t be were it is today if the immigrants never moved here.
