Who is Joseph Stalin and why did he create the KGB?
Joseph Stalin was a political leader, who rose up after Vladimir Lenin's death. Under Stalin, the Soviet Union was transformed into a poor society, and Stalin ruled with terror. He created the KGB because he wanted to make the Soviet Union a totalitarian state. The KGB officially started on March 13, 1954, after Stalin's death.
