Prison Camps are camps where prisoners of war or political concerns are kept by a guards watch. Prison camps can also be used for less dangerous prisoners to work outside, are working for the government.

Prison camps can also be used for forced labor to punish them. Labor camps are very close to slavery, especially on farms.

What was the purpose of prison camps?
The purpose of prison camps was to stop any opposition of these so called ¨enemies¨. The Nazi´s wanted to take control over the Jews so they started their first prison camps in Germany.
In Poland on September 1, 1939 when they set up the prison camps they took in many prisoners and thousands of Jews.

Some people who got put into prison camps are German Communists, Socialists, Social Democrats
Some other people who got put into prison camps are Gypsies, Jehovah's Witnesses, Homosexuals, and challenged people

How often were prison camps used?
Prison camps had to of gotten used a lot because prison camps were available from 1942 to 1945 the end of World War II. Not only were they used for 3 years but thousands of prisoners got put in them and that kept them busy.
Prison camps would have gotten used a lot because they used to be called Prison camps but they changed them to ¨death camps¨, they were even called killing centers because people would try to kill themselves to get out of there.

How did you get out of prison camps?
There is really no way to get ¨out¨ of a prison camp. The only way to get out of prison camps was if you killed yourself or what they basically did was starve you and abused you till you died.
