3100 BC - King Menes united Egypt making him the first pharaoh of the united empire

OLD KINGDOM (2750 BC - 2160 BC) - The greatest period of achievements, like the pyramids

2160 BC - 2040 BC - the Old Kingdom declined, with the pharaohs building pyramids, they didn't have the money, so the taxes where too high and people couldn't pay.

MIDDLE KINGDOM (2040 BC - 1780 BC) - The pharaohs gained power again, created a irrigation system and sepulture techniques (mummification)
