The history of North Carolina



Salisbury is founded as the county of Rowan County, created from Anson County in 1753 to accommodate increasing numbers of German and Scots-Irish settlers in the area.

King George lll issues a proclamation that demarcates the western edge of settlement.  the proclamation line through western North Carolina is meant to separate the Native Americans and the colonists

The Regulators wanted to obtain these liberties through peaceful appeals to their colonial assembly and Royal Governor William Tryon as early as 1768. Their pleas for help, however, fell on deaf ears. As frustrations grew, so too did violence.

Group violence has occurred in many forms in North Carolina from the  colinist time until the present day, perpetrated both by private citizens and public authorities and motivated by political differences, poverty, rasicm, labor unrest, and other force around 1768

political action by Wilmington women the Wilmington Tea Party occurred sometime between March 25 and April 5, 1774 It was one of the many tax protests that went around colonies after the Boston Tea Party of December 1773

The Endenton Tea party was based off the taxation with representation and a group of 51 woman took on this idea this wasn't taken as seriously because woman were doing the act

Captain James Jack Went On a ride to the second contential congress from Charlotte to deliver the Mecklenburg Resolves

On May 20th 1775 Mecklenburg Declaration of independence was signed

The Mecklenburg Resolves document was created by the Mecklenburg County on or after May 20, 1775 was also created in the mouths following the lexington concord battle

North Carolina Continental Congress representatives, Joseph Hewes  William Hooper and John Penn sign the Declaration of Independence

The Halifax Resolves was North Carolina Independence Letter to the british on april 12 1776, helped pave the road to the presentation to the congress of the united states declaration of independence
