Catalogue shopping can sometimes be fun

I'm normally not a big fun of mail order and catalogue shopping, and thought it had pretty much gone out of style in the 90's. However, I recently stopped into Lee Valley on United Blvd. in Coquitlam and was pleasantly surprised -- Cool stuff for the home and garden with lots of nick-nacks you never thought existed. Although this outlet has been around since 03, I never really took notice of it. A lot of the woodworking tools (hand wood working tools and accessories for the power tools) as well as the gardening stuff is on display in the showroom, so you get to see what you’re buying before you take it home. The quality is excellent (from what I saw) and not too pricy. And, everything seems to be well stocked. The showroom doesn’t have the nasty warehouse feel that that you would expect of “mail order places”. If you have someone on your Christmas shopping list who is an avid gardener or just generally like working around the house I would highly recommend you make this a stop on your list of place to go -- I certainly plan to.
