Post-Purchase Nightmare

Company/Brand: Creative
26-04-2007

I bought a Creative Zen Vision M last year and loved it since my sister has an iPod video and she had some issues with uploading video to her player and I didn't.

This year I had to reformat my computer because it had a bug in it. As a result, I needed to reinstall the software that comes with my MP3 player in order to sync up the player with my computer again. However, I seemed to have lost it. I went to the creative website and found the page where it has the software but unfortunately it did not install. It kept on saying I'm missing a program so it did not work. I felt so frustrated that my player and computer was not communicating with each other! I wanted to call customer service but it appears that I can only call during warranty period which only lasted for 30-90 days after purchase.

Frustrated, I went to their forum page and found many people had the same problem. Frustrated customers who experienced the same situation. It was quite odd to see so many dissatified customers on their corporate forum page complaining about the company. The administer kept on telling the customers that the software is all there but it did not work for any of us. After reading many threads and many pages later a customer has kindly ripped the cd and post it online. I downloaded it and it worked!

I love my player but this the worst post-purchase experience for me. I don't know if I want to buy another product from them again. I think companies need to focus on their post-purchase service as this will affect their brand.
