Rip off bargain berths

Company/Brand: Scotrail

I feel very ripped off by Scotrail, the Scottish train service. They offer bargain sleeper accommodation down to London if you book a certain number of days in advance. I went onto the Web site literally seconds after they were offering the days I wanted and - surprise surprise - no bargain fares, just full price. The day I wanted was around the Easter holidays and they had obviously decided not to offer any cut price fares around that time - yet again, families are suffering because they have to stick to school holidays.

Hi, Its a bit late to post a reply.... but for the record:

I travelled on the bargain berth ticket together with my sister and her boyfriend.. and the service and all about it was amazing. Basic economics will of course mean that tickets are not easily available for peak periods like Easter.... and Scot Rail should not be blamed for this... its a fact of life. These tickets are simply too good value to be made available at all times to all comers, it is bound to be an off peak, advance, non flexible ticket. That is why it's so cheap.

I am very pro family....but I don't think that you can blame the railway company for this.. sorry. If Scot Rail took a lot of flak for this, they wouldn't make more seats available for £19, they would just get rid of the bargain berths entirely, and then everyone would loose out.
