They have it all
Amazon is truly a superstore. I always look there first because, 9 times out of 10, they have what I need at a great price.
PROS:
The "Prime" account, where you pay a one time fee and get 2-day shipping free for the year. I LOVE THIS FEATURE!
Items are usually in-stock - I rarely have had problems getting what I need. This is true even during the holidays, when a lot of places run out of stock. Not Amazon.
They represent Toys R Us, which is great for me because I can do all of my holiday shopping online.
Customer Service - I've had problems with 3 shipments in the past 6 years. Each time, Amazon fixed it promptly and made sure I either got a replacement or credit ASAP.
CON:
Amazon also represents other vendors, so be careful on their shipping and return policies. I recently had an order I needed expidited and it turned out the company was in Canada. They were great, but it was not listed on Amazon's site that there may be delays due to their location.

I love them too, but actually they don't represent Toys R Us anymore. I think it's eToys now.
I'm with you irisht...another PRO: in many ways they have replaced google for me - if I am looking for a book or some new tunes, I head to Amazon. There are just so many great recommendation and sources of ideas. A sweet and wonderful site. Good post!
I too love amazon.. still get that thrill from sitting in my PJs with my butt crocheted to the couch, but SHOPPING. And finding stuff I'd never have discovered on my own to boot.
The one downside for me is that guilt that I'm not supporting my local bookstore, one of which in particular is legendarily fantastic. Every time I shop at Amazon I keep expecting a bolt of lightening from the gods of local vitality to strike me down.
I love Amazon, too. They have easy ordering and things get sent in a jiffy. I love when they offer their free shipping.
