u-Haul u-Suck

Seriously never use u-Haul. I know they are a brand synonymous with moving (like Kleenex is to tissue), but they should not be.

u-Haul trucks break down constantly, they put their customers last and hide a thousand charges so that the $29.95/day turns into $200.00/day really quickly.

Their trucks are a safety hazzard. Someone I know rented a u-Haul and almost died from the carbon monoxide leak (which u-Haul apparently knew about from the last 3 customers that rented it but failed to tell our friend).

We were 5 minutes late in getting the truck back because...well...it kept breaking down and they locked the gate and charged us for an extra day. They had people standing inside of the gates with keys. Wouldn't do it. Buggers.

It is a heartbreakingly disempowering situation to rent from u-Haul. Try Budget or Penske instead. I don't know how much better they are, but we've had both recommended numerous times.

Save yourself heartache and bypass u-Haul.

reputation is bad, for a reason

I too got bitten by the curse that is Two Small Men with Moving Company.

This summer my items arrived in YVR over two weeks over what the promised window would be. Now, these things do unfortunately happen, but the experience has taught me that paying the extra price for a qulaiyt moving company on a long haul is worth it.

No need to rehash my experience. Just be prepared for some sloppy management and no peace of mind if you chose this company.
